Proof of Concept Grant

Thu 2 Feb at 9:24am -

This award will provide funding for staff, research consumables and travel and subsistence for projects that look to advance the state-of-the-art in electrochemical energy research, or provide proof of concept for novel materials or techniques pertaining to Global Challenge Priority Areas in Energy, outlined by the STFC, that align with the network goals in electrochemical energy devices.

The funding should enable small-scale proof of concept projects to seed and expedite pathways to future funding. It will enable researchers to conduct fundamental research, demonstrate new capabilities, transfer research from other disciplines and de-risk novel concepts related to the Priority Areas in Energy. Collaborations involving academics, industry, large scale facilities or end-users are strongly encouraged, though only academic partners are eligible to request the funding.

The maximum funding that can be applied for is £40k (£32k at 80% FEC) and the deadline for applications is 1st March.

The PI on the application must be eligable to hold a grant at a UK university (post doc and PhDs are not).
